Sony Vaio VGN-P11z/g is Sony’s most impressive and high quality Netbook, Sony Vaio VGN-P11Z/R is extremely portable though it is slightly unusual in shape. Like many other Netbooks it uses an Intel Atom processor and has no optical drive, but it's far smaller and lighter in compare to other Netbooks.
The P11Z/R is less than half the size and around half the weight of others. The P11Z/R's 8in widescreen LCD doesn't take up all the space available in the lid, and is more than twice as long as it is high, with a resolution of 1,600x768 which makes it a high-def panel, so you could attach a Blu-ray player and run movies on it. This machine is good value for money. Sony Vaio VGN-P11Z/R comes with Windows vista as its operating system. It is powered by an Intel Atom Z520 processor which runs at 1.33GHz. With 2048MB of memory, it offers sufficient storage and is just about fine to work while on the move.
There are only two USB ports on the P11Z/R, along with two memory card slots, one each for SD and Memory Stick cards. There's a docking port, with the small dock included in the box adding a VGA output and an Ethernet port. There's built-in Bluetooth and WiFi, and there's also a 3G broadband modem. This isn't locked to a specific network, so you can choose the mobile broadband package that suits you best. A GPS locator is also provided, so you can take full advantage of mapping services such as Google Maps. Webcam, built-in stereo speakers and microphone along with memory Stick and SD card slots also available. Its battery runs for a maximum of 3 hours.
The keyboard attached is also very stylish. It uses flat, separated keys. The typing experience is simply great. The keys are just small enough to make touch-typing uncomfortable. As the keyboard takes up all the available space, there isn't room for a touchpad. Instead, there's a touch stick with the buttons set on the edge of the case.
