Books or eBooks which is better is now the hottest topic to discuss and this discussion take hype after the launch of Barnes and Noble's Nook, a handheld book reader It has a direct competition to Amazon's Kindle which is the most popular book reader so far. Now days there are many eBook readers available in the market which means people like eBooks and buying. These e-Books are the best gift for nearest and dearest people.

When the first eBook was designed, it was only for reading digital books. But as you know the technology advances and also because of market competition manufacturers are adding more and more features like wireless internet connection, email facilities, audio playback, annotation facilities and multi-file format compatibility. While in the books you will not find this type of facility. But with so many facilities in the eBooks Normal people can’t understand how to use it. People need some knowledge of computer to use full functions of eBooks while the Normal Books are very user friendly. People using the normal book can turn pages or flip any section instantly but in eBooks it takes time to go from one page to other page.

In eBooks if you want to search something than its very easy while in the normal book to search something is a difficult job. Normal Books are made of paper. Paper comes from trees and this paper can be recycled so it is greener. eBooks needs power while reading. It depends on electricity. Normal Books can be read anywhere with sufficient light. Normal Books uses papers. So it has resale value. One you have read the book you can keep it with you, discard it or you can also sell it. You will get some amount while selling it. eBooks has no resale value. Manufactures are launching every time new ebooks with new and more advanced technologies. If you are buying a normal book, you own it. It is yours. You can do anything with that book, you can sell, you can lend but when you are buying eBook. Actually you are not buying it you are only buying the license to read it. The publisher has control over it. You don’t have rides. Normal books are so easy to lend some one. You can lend it to any of your family friend, you just hand the book on to someone else. But you can’t lend eBook, there are many restrictions available.

Normal books are bulky and heavy. You can’t carry more than 2 or 3, while eBook is easy to carry. You can carry multiple books on one device. eBooks has zoom functions, letter resizing facility also. This discussion will never end. We can’t say which is better. It depends upon the user and its usage.

This is never ending discussion. At the moment, the whole thing is still in its infancy and there is no solution yet. Time will tell which is better but personally I think paper books are much better and they are still my favorite though. They don't need batteries, and I can read them just about anywhere.
