Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG10
SANYO Electric Co. launched its limited edition Gold Dual camera – Xacti VPC-CG10. To meet the increasing demand for high-definition equipment globally, Sanyo designed the Xacti Dual Camera to record high-definition video. This Xacti VPC-CG10 is a pistol-grip style camcorder that comes in black, pink and white. The targeted audience of this camera is Arab community in the GCC region. It’s a Pocket-able HD camcorder.
The new Sanyo Dual Camera Xacti CG10 records High Definition video with 720p, 30fps, and take 10 mega pixel photos with 5x optical zoom. It is able to record the video at 30 frames per second. We can capture life’s important moments with the best quality. Flash included in it functions only while taking photos. You can also take photos while recording the video by using camera button. The camera has a 3-inch widescreen LCD which includes latest technologies like a digital image stabiliser, face chaser technology and high-speed sequential shooting. Face Chaser Technology recognizes up to 12 faces for videos and take pictures and optimizes focus and aperture settings to ensure all subjects are in focus. It automatically compensates for distracting up-and-down or side-to-side camera movement, keeping your subject steady and easy to follow. CG10 provides zooming range of F=38 - 190mm (35mm equivalent) with the 12X digital zoom. One of the Technology 3D-DNR offer a significant improvement in video clarity by reducing random signal noise
The camera is also very stylish and sleek. The design of the menus and buttons is also very cool. User can access all the settings/menus easily by the thumb only. Menu include a camera button for taking photos, a Record button for shooting video, a zoom toggle, a four-position joystick for accessing the menu and calling up shortcuts and a Menu button. Shutter buttons available on the cam let you start shooting a video or a photo with a single thumb press. Sharing of the photos from the cam is also very easy. We can share photos and videos via social networking sites or e-mailing them to friends and family like other portable video devices like iPods, TVs and computers. You can import video and photos from the camera either USB cable or you can remove the SD card and place it in a card reader.
The Xacti CG10 has a proprietary Lithium-Ion battery The DB-L80. It’s a high capacity battery. You can charge the battery by removing it from the camera. 70min Continuous playback is also available.

The Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG10 comes close to being a good option for both photo and movie capture--more so for its design than the results it produces. If you're looking for a relatively inexpensive HD pocket camcorder with an optical zoom, it's certainly the way to go. The video quality is considerably better than its photos, though, and its movies are only very good considering its sub-$200 price.

Sanyo's dual-camera Xacti VPC-CG10 has the design and features to easily shoot both HD-quality movies and 10-megapixel photos, but slow performance and mediocre photos keep it from being a solid do-it-all device.
