Comparison of Apple iPhone 3GS with iPhone 4

Few Days ago only Apple iPhone 4 is launched and now it is in market available for purchase. Apple 4 is the thinnest smartphone offering from Apple, and has included a bunch of most advanced features and hardware specifications. On the first day only Apple may have sold more than 1.5 million iPhone 4s. While Apple sold 1 million iPhone 3G units in the first weekend it went on sale in 2008. The iPhone 3GS’s LCD display has a resolution of 320×480 pixels. iPhone 4′s LED backlit IPS LCD display has a 640×960 resolution at 326ppi and an 800:1 contrast ratio. iPhone 4′s Retina Display radiates over the iPhone 3GS. Looking closely to the iPhone 3Gs text and icons are a bit more jagged compare to iPhone 4.

Power and battery – New iPhone 4 is improved a lot in terms of battery life. Steve Jobs claims a 40 per cent improvement for the iPhone 4 over the 3GS. 3Gs has Up to 5 hours talk time / data on 3G, 12 hours on 2G talk time while iPhone 4 has Up to 7 hours talk time on 3G, 14 hours on 2G.

Storage Capacity – iPhone 4 is only available with 16 GB and 32 GB while iphone 3Gs is available in 8GB also.

Camera & Video Recording – iPhone 4 is very much improved in its camera feature. It is not as good as other best camera phones. But it is far better while compare to iPhone 3Gs. iPhone 4 has 5 megapixel of camera instead of 3 megapixel and the addition of an LED flash which can also be used for the video. iPhone 4 also adds a front-facing camera for FaceTime Wi-Fi video calls and more.

3GS supports video recording at VGA (30fps) and iPhone 4, as predicted, pokes a finger in the eye of devices like the Flip HD, with its own HD (720p, 30fps) recording.

Apple launches new iPhone 4 with new OS and Features

The long awaited handset now launched. Apple chief Steve Jobs has announced the fourth generation iPhone at the WWDC 2010. When he launched this new iPhone within 2 hours every tech news site on the planet has a headline of this new iPhone on the site. It is complete overhaul of the iPhone 3GS.

Apple iPhone4 has many features different from iPhone 3Gs. Steve Jobs claimed that iPhone4 is the thinnest smartphone on the planet and at 9.3mm thick. It’s 24 percent thinner than the iPhone 3GS. The most interesting features, differ form the 3GS are better camera, LED flash, faster processor (the Apple A4), a much improved screen (very high PPI), gyroscope for pitch, roll, and yaw, front-facing camera, and, of course, iOS 4.

iPhone4 has the same screen size 3.5-inches but it has higher resolution screen at 326 pixels per inch. So the resolution of the screen is 960×640 pixel which is so far the highest we’ve seen on a smartphone. Apple gave the name “Retina Display” to this display. Retina Display means the pixel density so high that it’s beyond what your retina can see. In simple language it gives much higher quality text and pictures.

Now let’s talk about another important feature camera. iPhone 3GS has 3.2 MP camera while in iPhone4 has 5 Megapixel camera with a 5x digital zoom. Illuminated sensor and built-in LED flash also available which allow you to take amazing pictures even in low light and dark environments. HD video recording and front facing video conference camera is also available. FaceTime technology enables users to make video calls. Front facing camera is to make video calls.
