In my last article I compared iPhone 3GS and Apple iPhone 4. iPhone 4 is far better than Apple 3GS. Now in this article I m comparing Apple iPhone 4 with latest high demanding Android phone HTC EVO 4G. Both of these phones are best at their level. Apple’s latest iPhone 4 is in direct competition with HTC EVO 4G. Let’s compare both phones.

Display & Design- The iPhone 4 has a 3.5-inch screen and the pixel resolution 960×640 pixels which is really best. iPhone 4 edges are a little sharper and it’s not as pleasant to hold. HTC EVO’s 4.3-inch screen is amazing. Screen size is perfect for watching videos and browsing the web. But EVO can not compete with the iPhone 4 on the resolution and only has a pixel resolution of 480×800 pixels – which is not as good as the iPhone 4’s 960×640 pixel resolution.

The new touchpad with multitouch and IPS technology is called Retina Display (326 pixels per inch). Due to the high resolution the displayed text, video and images are clear The iPhone is made of glass and metal The HTC EVO is mostly plastic. The iPhone is thinner (9.3mm vs. 12.7mm) than HTC. Both Phones are comfortable to use and fit fine in a pocket.

Processors-EVO 4G has 1GHz processor that makes everything snappy and stable. Multitasking was already easier since 1GHz processor became a need of Smartphones. HD videos (up to 720p) don’t lag or stutter, we can work on multiple applications without hanging our device, we can play games while something is being downloaded over Wi-Fi or 3G, etc.

The iPhone 4 uses the same capable A4 processor as the iPad, and the EVO 4 uses the hotrod Qualcomm Snapdragon running at an impressive 1GHz. You’ll have to wait for the iPhone 4 release to see head-to-head benchmarks, but AnandTech pitted the iPad against the EVO 4G and found a 37.6 percent real-life performance gain in page load times. Of course, different operating systems and a range of other variables make this far from scientific, and Apple could underclock the model in the iPhone 4 for battery life, further throwing a wrench into the works. Bottom line: Until the iPhone 4 makes it to the wild, it’s too early to tell how it will perform beside the EVO 4G.

Camera-Apple iPhone 4 has new fangle 5 megapixel camera shoots in 2592×1944 pixels, has autofocus and also LED flash and 5 x digital zoom and the front-facing cam, which shoots 1.3 megapixels to Apple’s VGA (0.3 megapixel) cam so, a lot better than the iPhone 3GS then. HTC has packed a massive 8 megapixel camera with Auto Focus and 2x LED Flash in the HTC EVO, which, obviously, takes Apple to the cleaners in the megapixel front. Images are extremely brilliant in day light and satisfactory under low-light conditions. Dual LED flash has now become a common treat for Smartphones. However, we cannot count on this dual-LED flash of EVO 4G because it flashes too much and reduces the natural feel of the picture in low-light conditions. It’s something that’s utterly missing in every camera phone nowadays. For video, both cameras are capable of high-def 720p recording, but the iPhone 4 can shoot at a full 30 frames per second while the EVO 4G can only do 25. I think both phones are equally good. Apple has more focus on Picture quality and HTC gave preference to MegaPixels.

Battery-iPhone 4 works up to 7 hours in 3G networks and 8 hours in 2G networks, as for HTC EVO 4G the talking time is up to 6 hours. It’s just a matter of 1 hour but still Apple wins here.

Operating System- Apple’s iOS undoubtedly lacks the flexible open ecosystem of Android, which allows software like game console emulators that Apple has banned, but Apple holds the upper hand in selection, boasting 225,000 third-party apps to Android’s 70,000 or so, at last count. The latest release also alleviates some of the most frequent complaints about previous versions, like the lack of multitasking and folders for apps.

Some Other features on both devices:

-    Both Apple and HTC are promising HD video recording from their devices.
-    iPhone has Facetime video calling over Wi-Fi, Retina Display that provides brilliant display on 960 by 640 resolution.
-    HTC EVO 4G has HDMIout, wide display of 4.3”, Wimaxin a phone (make your phone a Wi-Fi hotspot), nice 8MP camera phone in day-light.
-    The iPhone 4 offers the same maximum storage as the EVO 4G, and for less money
-    These both are touchscreen phones. But the iPhone still offers the best touchscreen keyboard we’ve ever used in actual practice, and the addition of spellcheck in iOS 4 only helps cement that.

So In my point of view as comparing the devices from HTC and Apple it’s very difficult to decide which smart phone is better. But I can say Apple’s iPhone 4 appears to be a better deal. iPhone 4 is substantially smaller, has a higher resolution screen, and offers more storage for the money, good picture quality, better Video calling, better multimedia and Web-browsing and many more feature which puts iphone 4 upper hand. But Keep in Mind that Apple iphone 4 wins with little margin only.
