Samsung Electronics has introduced its first internal multi-format Combo Drive in the electronic market which is called SH-B083 Blu-ray Drive. It’s a Blu-ray 8X Disc Combo Drive with BD-R and BD-ROM. It’s a first Blu-ray drive with combination of BD-ROM and CD/DVD RW drive.

This Samsung Blu-ray SH-B083 offers increased speeds and a lot of extra tweaks and options that you’re probably gonna like it. This Blu-ray disc drive is compatible with high-capacity discs of up to 25GB if they are single-layer discs, or up to 50GB if they are double-layer discs. This drive can be used with personal computers. It has 2MB buffer memory, a SATA connection interface and provides 8x read speeds for BD-R and BD-ROMs, 16x for DVDs and 40x for CDs. The drive also boasts an average access speed of 350ms because of its fast dual layer jumping algorithm, which is much faster than any other drive on the market today. There are two lenses available for more stable reading and writing: one lens is for BD read and the other lens is for CD/DVD read/write

The drive can read Blu-ray and read and writes to CD / DVDs. It has lots of advantages over traditional ODD technology. Through SH-B083 drive users can watch HD movies on their desktop and also they can record HDTV broadcasting on to a DVD with the support of different software.
